The end of the world is coming to video today with the release of "2012." Forewarned about Armageddon, the world's leaders build arks for select passengers to sustain humankind and rebuild. "Independence Day" director Roland Emmerich guides the action in this epic about destruction and survival inspired by the Mayan prophecy. John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Woody Harrelson, Danny Glover, Oliver Platt, and Thandie Newton are all part of the ensemble cast. The film also features the song "Time For Miracles" by season eight "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert.
Extras include filmmaker commentary, a featurette about Emmerich, an alternate ending, deleted scenes, and the music video for "Time For Miracles." Where The Wild Things Are
"Where The Wild Things Are," based on Maurice Sendak's children's book of the same name, is new on video. When a precocious young boy named Max is dispatched to his room by his mother, his imagination runs wild. Max soon finds himself in a forest filled with creatures called "Wild Things" where Max is king. Spike Jonze -- the filmmaker behind "Being John Malkovich" -- directs. Max Records, Catherine Keener, James Gandolfini, and Tom Noonan star.

Cold Souls
Oscar-nominee Paul Giamatti stars in the scifi dramedy "Cold Souls." Giamatti stars as Paul, a frustrated actor who decides to put his soul into cold storage while he trudges through a production of Chekov's "Uncle Vanya." David Strathairn, Lauren Ambrose, and Katheryn Winnick costar in this film co-written and directed by Sophie Barthes.
Extras include a "Soul Extractor" slide show and deleted scenes. (Fox).
The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee
Robin Wright and Blake Lively both embody the title role in "The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee." When a woman is relegated to moving into a retirement community with her older spouse, she reflects on the chapters of her life. Lively plays Young Pippa while Wright is the adult version. Shirley Knight, Julianne Moore, Mike Binder, and Alan Arkin also star. Arthur Miller's daughter Rebecca Miller writes and directs.

Gentleman Broncos
Jared Hess -- the filmmaker behind "Napoleon Dynamite" -- presents another left-of-center comedy with "Gentlemen Broncos." Michael Angarano plays Benjamin, an awkward, home-schooled teen with a vast imagination. When a story written by Benjamin is stolen out from under him by a well-known fantasy author, he's off on a wild adventure. Jennifer Coolidge, John Baker, Sam Rockwell, and Mike White all make appearances.
Extras include five deleted scenes, commentary by Jared and Jerusha Hess, outtakes, and a featurette. (Fox).
Sesame Street's Abby In Wonderland
The characters of "Sesame Street" perform their own version of "Alice In Wonderland" in a new children's video. The release of "Sesame Street's Abby In Wonderland" coincides with the debut of Tim Burton's upcoming big screen interpretation of "Alice In Wonderland."

Designing Women: Season Three
Dixie Carter and Delta Burke co-star as the Sugarbaker sisters in the long-running series "Designing Women." This comedy set in the Sugarbakers' interior design firm also features Annie Potts, as a no-nonsense designer and Jean Smart as a sweet office manager. The VeggieTales parody the famous story "Pinocchio" in the family film "VeggieTales: Pistachio -- The Little Boy That Woodn't." "Pistachio" features a lesson for kids about listening to their parents, along with messages about the strength of family.
