Jesse Jackson Jr. Pleads Guilty Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday to improperly using $750,000 in campaign funds to finance a lavish lifestyle. Jackson, the son of the civil rights icon, made the plea as part of a bargain with prosecutors that also involved his wife, a former Chicago alderman. Both the younger Jackson and his wife stepped down from their elected positions earlier this year. Both Jacksons could face jail time at a future sentencing hearing.
