A prayer vigil was held Thursday night at St. Patrick's Church in Chesterton for an Indiana doctor missing in the backcountry of Colorado after going on a hiking trip near Vail. Police say 39-year-old James McGrogan, originally from Chesterton, was last seen last Friday afternoon when fellow hikers said McGrogan went ahead of their group. Authorities recently announced that search-and-rescue efforts have turned into a recovery mission. The search was suspended Tuesday due to a winter storm. McGrogan was said to have had food, water, a GPS, medical supplies, and tools with him when he went missing. McGrogan had recently moved back to the Hoosier state with his family and started a new job at St. Joseph Medical Center in Mishawaka.
