Celebration Banquet for Marquette Catholic State Champs

The celebrations continue for the Class-A State Champs Marquette Catholic in Michigan City, and the public is invited to be a part of it. The Blazers beat Barr-Reeve 70-66 in overtime at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis in March to bring home their first state title for boys basketball. The team came back from a ten-point deficit in the fourth quarter to win the championship. Coach Donovan Garletts told the Region News Team this morning Region residents can come out to a special event tonight at The Richard and Louise Scholl Center at the high school to congratulate and help out the team.  Tonight at 6 pm, at the school, at 306 West 10th Street in Michigan City, just south of the Lighthouse Premium Outlets Shopping Center, they're having a Celebrate the Champions Banquet, and tickets are available at the door for $20.   Garletts says funds will help pay for the boys basketball trip to Puerto Rico this summer, where the team will be playing teams from other Catholic schools there in mid-July.
