Arson Fires in Calumet Twp

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is seeking information regarding the person or persons responsible for three arson fires in the Calumet Township area between April and June of this year. Investigators from the Lake Ridge Fire Department and Office of the State Fire Marshall have identified three separate fires that have been deemed suspicious in origin. The first occurred April 13th n the 2100 Block of East Elm Street near Griffith, the second on May 19th in the 2700 block of East Elm Street near Griffith, and the third just two days ago on June 14th in the 4700 block of Buchanan Street near Gary. The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is assisting in the investigation and says all three appear to have been started by the same individual or individuals.
