The Porter County Sheriff’s Department has purchased a new truck for the Porter County SWAT team. The new SWAT truck, a 2013 Ford F550 RDV – “Rapid Deployment Vehicle”, manufactured by The Armored Group, out of Phoenix, AZ, cost $89,950. Police say it was paid for out of the seizure fund started about ten years ago for monies seized from traffic stops or other cases.
