The Times today is reporting some Highland schools were on lockdown for a short time this morning after the report of an attempted home invasion in the 27-hundred block of 39^th Place, which is about a half-mile from the high school.

In Michigan City yesterday, Elston Middle School and St. Paul Lutheran School were reportedly placed on lockdown after police reported several gunshots fired in the area of Eleventh and Spring Streets around 8 am. Michigan City Police reported no injuries, but a report in the Times says a vehicle was shot multiple times.
