In anticipation of the remnants of Hurricane Sandy, the Lake County Police Department's Marine Unit reports they will be staffed 24 hours a day, due to the high winds and waves on Lake Michigan, and to ensure no boats are on the lake. The Lake County Sheriff says as of noon Monday, waves were approximately eight feet, and were anticipatedl to rise as high as 20 feet during the night time hours Monday.
