Many Factors Contributing to Increase Cost of Gas

gas prices up

Triple-A Director of Public Affairs, Beth Mosher, says lessened production, refineries going off-line due to maintenance issues, and refinery issues in Illinois and Ohio have all help contribute to cost increase. Mosher says it remains to be seen if the more expense to produce and make “summer blend switch-over”, will add to the already high prices, which in the Gary metropolitan-area, has increased 65-cents in just the last month. Mosher suggests motorists take it slow, as every mile over 55 miles per hour hurts fuel-efficiency, and to consolidate your trips.
