A Hobart man accused in connection with the death of a two-year-old girl whose body was found burned and encased in concrete in a La Porte County swamp four years ago was sentenced to forty-years in prison in Lake County court today [Friday] . Timothy Tkachik pleaded guilty in 2010 to neglect. Co-defendant and former girlfriend Engelica Castillo was found guilty of murdering Jada Justice and is serving a 65-year prison term. Police say the child was beaten to death while the couple was babysitting her. A judge dismissed neglect charges against the child's mother last month.
