Current Porter County Sheriff David Lain introduced former Porter County Sheriff David Reynolds this evening in front of the Porter County Sheriff's Office where Reynolds formally announced his candidacy to once again become Sheriff of Porter County. During the announcement, Reynolds, who was joined by friends and family, cited his 33 years of experience in law enforcement as to why he is the man voters should choose to lead the fine men and women of the Porter County Sheriff's Office. Reynolds, a Democrat, served two consecutive terms as Sheriff, from 1999 to 2006. In Indiana, sheriffs are limited from serving more than eight years in a twelve-year span. Reynolds was succeeded by current Sheriff David Lain, also a Democrat, who is currently in his second term.
