Illinois today became the 16th state to legalize gay marriage. Surrounded by dozens of lawmakers, state officials, and hundreds of supporters, Governor Pat Quinn signed the same sex marriage bill into law on the same desk Abraham Lincoln penned his 1861 inaugural address.... "It's a triumph of democracy. A triumph of government of the people, that we believe in liberty and equality, and we're making sure that's a part of our law." Gay couples will be able to get married in Illinois in the summer of 2014.
