DONALD TRUMP SUED FOR $40 MILLION OVER “PHONY” UNIVERSITY

New York's attorney general has sued Donald Trump for $40 million, claiming the real estate mogul helped run a phony “Trump University” that falsely promised to make students rich.  Instead, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said that the university steered them into expensive and mostly useless seminars, and even failed to deliver promised apprenticeships.  After the lawsuit was filed on Saturday, Trump shot back that it is false and politically motivated.  Schneiderman says many of the 5,000 students who paid up to $35,000 thought they would at least meet Trump but instead all they got was their picture taken in front of a life-size picture of him.

FARMER’S ALMANAC PREDICTION: WINTER IS GOING TO BE MUCH COLDER

The Farmers' Almanac is using words like “piercing cold,” “bitterly cold” and “biting cold” to describe the upcoming winter.  And if its predictions are right, the first outdoor Super Bowl in years will be a messy “Storm Bowl.”  The 197-year-old publication that hits newsstands today predicts a winter storm will hit the Northeast around the time the Super Bowl is played at MetLife Stadium in the Meadowlands in New Jersey.  It also predicts a colder-than-normal winter for two-thirds of the country and heavy snowfall in the Midwest, Great Lakes and New England.  “We're using a very strong four-letter word to describe this winter, which is C-O-L-D.

WOMAN SETTLES $105,000 PARKING TICKET BILL

A Chicago woman who racked up more than $105,000 in parking ticket fines has reached a settlement with the city.  Jennifer Fitzgerald's lawsuit against the city alleged her ex-boyfriend registered the offending vehicle in her name without permission before abandoning it at an O'Hare International Airport parking lot, where it received 678 parking tickets in two years.  Fitzgerald's attorney said the car was not towed for 2 1/2 years and should have been removed far earlier. A judge tossed out Fitzgerald's lawsuit in April and urged the two sides to reach a settlement.  Fitzgerald has now agreed to pay a reduced bill of $4,470.  Fitzgerald's suspended driver's license will be returned to her when she pays off the fine.  Her ex-boyfriend has agreed to contribute $1,600 toward the sum.

DELAWARE LOCALS' SURPRISE AS $10,000 IS SCATTERED OVER TOWN FROM A HELICOPTER AFTER DEAD MAN'S FINAL WISH IS GRANTED

Money doesn't just fall out of the sky - except for residents of Lewes, Delaware, who had $10,000 showered over them from above on Saturday afternoon.  A helicopter appeared in the sky over the Lewes Harbor and hovered there for five minutes divesting itself of the cash, then flew off.  The windfall came courtesy of Leonard Maull, who owned a bait and tackle shop in the town before his death last year.  Maull left specific instructions in his will for $10,000 in $5, $10, $20 and $50 notes to be dropped from an aircraft over the Lewes Marina on the first anniversary of his death.  Staff at the Irish Eyes pub were working their Saturday afternoon shift when they noticed the helicopter approaching.  Server Tina Chaippini told the Cape Gazette that people were running towards the helicopter and returning with fistfuls of money.  Local police were aware of the plan and sent an officer to the marina to ensure nothing got out of hand.

OWNER OF JOHN LENNON TOOTH HOPING TO CLONE THE LATE BEATLE

Imagine John Lennon's clone walking the planet.  That's just what the Canadian dentist who in 2011 paid more than $30,000 at a U.K. auction for a rotted tooth that once belonged to the late Beatle is hoping will one day become a reality.  Dr. Michael Zuk announced via a press release that he's turned over the molar to U.S. scientists so they can determine whether Lennon's genetic code can be extracted from it.  "I am nervous and excited at the possibility that we will be able to fully sequence John Lennon's DNA, very soon I hope," says Zuk in a statement.  "With researchers working on ways to clone mammoths, the same technology certainly could make human cloning a reality."  The dentist added that "to potentially say I had a small part in bringing back one of rock's greatest stars would be mind-blowing."

KELLY CLARKSON: I CANCELED MY WEDDING, WILL ELOPE

Kelly Clarkson’s October wedding to Brandon Blackstock is no more.  Clarkson says she and her fiancé have canceled their plans and decided to elope.  “We are so busy that we finally just came to terms the other night and were like, ‘So, we change our minds and we want to elope.’  We just got so overwhelmed by it – all the decisions,” she tells People.  Clarkson continues, “We sent out a save-the-date to everyone and then it got crazy and all the details were leaking.”
