Vendors Sought for 16th Annual 'Be Kind to Animals Expo'

The Porter County Animal Shelter is seeking vendors for its 16th Annual Be Kind To Animals Pet Care Expo. The event will be held from 10:00AM to 4:00PM on Saturday, April 26th at the Porter County Expo Center.

"Be Kind To Animals is one of the most well attended animal care events in northwest Indiana," said Shelter Director Jon Thomas. "Last year's event was packed all day long, so it is an excellent opportunity for veterinarians, pet care businesses, rescues and non-profits to reach a large audience of pet-owning, pet-friendly consumers."

The number of vendors at the event continues to grow, so the Shelter has made some changes this year to serve the vendors better. A second, connected building has been reserved to allow for an expansion of vendor space. Because the Porter County Expo Center are experts at arranging these types of events, they have agreed to help the Shelter improve vendor service. Beginning this year, booth reservations and payments must be made directly through the Porter County Expo Center.

An 8' X 10' space, including one table and one chair, is available at $25 for rescues and non-profits, or $45.00 for veterinarians and businesses. Extra tables and chairs are available for an additional fee.

To reserve your space for the Be Kind To Animals Pet Care Expo, please call Debbie Garner at the Porter County Expo Center. To reach Debbie, you can call the Expo Center at (219) 464-0133, then press 1 for Expo Administration. Or you can email Debbie at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The Shelter is also asking vendors to consider donating a gift basket or gift certificate to be part of a raffle to raise funds for the Shelter. If you want to participate in the raffle, please bring your donation on the day of the event.

We have to work very hard to raise funds. It is not easy but we do it for the animals. And for all of us working to save animals’ lives, it’s hard to fathom that so many animals are not wanted or are intentionally mistreated or are victims of violence.    It is for those animals that we do what we do and I know that is why you help us.   We work hard to see that all of the animals are well taken care of while they remain at our shelter and then we work as hard to find them responsible and loving forever homes.   Our purpose is to do whatever we can to protect defenseless animals from humans who do not care for them and look upon them as disposable items, or who would cause them pain or suffering.  That is our mission!   You help us make a difference in our Humane Society. Thank you!!   Humane Society Northwest Indiana 6100 Melton Rd.
