Hammond Police Chief Brian Miller says when temperatures rise, so do tempers... and his department has taken calls on fights flaring up, even between neighbors. Chief Miller is urging everyone to be patient, and not let something little that bothers you turn into something big. Miller says this time of year they also take calls for open fire hydrants, which can be dangerous in the event of a fire because it drains water pressure in the lines to the point where the fire department is unable to put out a fire.
