Severe weather in the Region tonight... The National Weather Service got a report from law enforcement of 1 3/4-inch (1.75) hail in Crown Point this afternoon [measured at Crown Point Police Dept], and a trained spotter report of 1/4-inch hail in Dyer this evening. 1-inch hail a mile north of Crown Point (from COCORAHS)
1-inch hail a mile east of Crown Point (trained spotter)

Trained spotter says hail lasted about five minutes in Merrillville, including one-inch hail 345-350 pm
