burns harbor fd Multiple units responded this morning to a brush fire in Burns Harbor this morning. Marcus Rogola, Safety officer for the Burns Harbor Fire Department, says a wire that powers the South Shore Rail's trains snapped just before 8 this morning, and sparks ignited a grass fire 60 feet long by 25 feet wide, on both sides of the railroad tracks on Route 12, between the ArccelorMittal and NIPSCO buildings. Authorities say they spent about 20 to 25 minutes at the scene.
