Northwest Indiana got to "unwrap" an early Christmas present to the Region, a new website showcasing the South Shore and Region.  Speros Batistatos, President and CEO of the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority, took the wraps off the new website Wednesday during a press conference at the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond.  Batistatos says the site rivals "any city (site) in the Midwest, better than Indianapolis' site" and that it would give "Chicago's (site) more than a run for its money."  Batistatos praised the technology of the website as being state-of-the-art "the best it can be."  He says the way that the counties are portrayed will make a big difference in the visitor's experiences when browsing the site. 

Luke Weinman IV, Director of Information and Technology at the VCA, says every community in the Region is listed with links along with a section for GNIAR, Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors in case visitors on the site want to make Northwest Indiana their home.  Weinman says the site also places social media directly onto the webpage without any need to leave the CVA site.  He also says a year's worth of work in readying the website was accomplished in eight to nine months.
