George Clooney has asked Matt Damon to be his best man. George proposed to his girlfriend Amal Alamuddin last month and although rumors had suggested he was planning to ask Brad Pitt to be his best man, it's now been revealed that he's chosen his “The Monuments Men” co-star instead. A source told The Sun newspaper: ''A lot of people thought Brad was a certainty to be George's best man as they have been such good friends for years. But he is probably even closer to Matt. Besides many years ago, during one drunken night together, George made a promise to Matt that he would make him his best man if he ever got married - so Matt called to claim his prize.''

JOE BIDEN TURNS DOWN CONNECTICUT TEEN'S PROM INVITATION..BUT SENDS HER A CORSAGE AND INVITES HER TO THE WHITE HOUSE

Vice President Joe Biden turned down a Connecticut teenager's prom invitation - but instead sent her a corsage and invited her to the White House.  Talia Maselli, 18, wrote a letter to Biden seven months ago inviting him to be her date and edge out any competition. “I am inviting you so far in advance because I'm sure many 17-year-old girls send you prom invitations, and I had to beat them to it,” she wrote. “I could only tolerate a high school dance if I was to be escorted by the most delightful man in America.” Biden was unable to attend - but he had a handpicked corsage and handwritten note sent to her home the day before the big dance.  “I am flattered, but my schedule will not permit me to be in Connecticut on Friday evening,” the note read. “But I hope you will accept this corsage and enjoy your prom as much as I did mine.”

BRAD PITT READY TO SIGN DEAL TO STAR IN “TRUE DETECTIVE” SEASON 2?

There’s been rumors buzzing around that Brad Pitt is set to star in True Detective season 2 since, well, True Detective season 1 ended. The show was an international success, with both Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey highly praised for their roles as detectives Rust Cohle and Marty Hart. It was unusual to see two such high profile actors taking time from their busy movie schedules to indulge in a little HBO series, but it sure did pay off. So, it’s no surprise that Brad Pitt potentially wants a piece of the True Detective pie. Since March, he’s been the bookie’s favorite to join the cast of the show, and the Latin Post is now reporting that Pitt is close to signing off on the deal.

DANCING WITH THE STARS RESULTS

Part one of the “Dancing with the Stars” finale ended last night with a heartbreaking elimination to reveal the Final 3. So, whose quest for the Mirror Ball came to a premature end? Ultimately, James Maslow & Peta Murgatroyd were eliminated.

The couple had scored a 58 out of 60 last night, much higher than Bure’s 51, which means fan votes likely put her and Ballas over the edge. Now Purdy (59 points), Davis (60 points), and Bure will all compete to get that sparkling trophy when the finale continues tonight.

JOSH GROBAN TO HOST NEW ABC SINGING COMPETITION "RISING STAR"

ABC is throwing its hat in the reality singing competition ring with the new series Rising Star, and has announced what top musical talent will appear on the show when it debuts in June.  First up is Josh Groban, who'll host the competition.  Serving as experts -- no coaches or judges on this show -- are rapper and actor Ludacris, country superstar Brad Paisley, and pop star Kesha, who's been largely out of the spotlight since she finished a stint in rehab earlier this year for an eating disorder. Rising Star, which will premiere June 22, will follow a group of contestants as they perform live. What sets the competition apart from other shows is that the experts don't have a say in who goes, who stays and who moves on.  Instead, viewers will vote in real time via an app to determine which contestant will advance in the competition.  In fact, the performer will be able to witness the voting during his or her performance.

WEIRD RED CARPET MOMENT FOR AMERICA FERRERA

A man tried to crawl under How to Train Your Dragon 2 star America Ferrera's dress while she posed Friday with her co-stars at the film's premiere in Cannes, France. The man jumped onto the red carpet, then got on his knees and tried to crawl under her white tulle gown. Security had to come and drag the guy away, while the actress held her poise alongside co-stars Cate Blanchett, Jay Baruchel, Kit Harrington, and Djimon Hounsou. Afterward, the actress was noticeably shaken by the incident.
MARK BALLAS SUFFERS SERIOUS INJURY REHEARSING FOR DWTS - AND MAY EVEN MISS THE FINAL

Mark Ballas has suffered a serious injury while rehearsing for the Dancing with the Stars finale. He was practicing a freestyle routine with celebrity partner Candace Cameron Bure when the incident occurred yesterday. A rep for the ABC series told People: “His shoulder popped out during a lift and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated and released.” Adding to the drama, his chances of competing on the finale are still up in the air, as the rep added, “It's unclear whether or not he'll be able to perform on Monday's show.”
