Annie was born and raised in Northwest Indiana with her younger sister and parents in Hammond. After spending some time out of the area chasing the radio dream she has moved back to start a family with her two main men: Jager the mutt and fiance Rob. When she is not on the air Annie enjoys cheering her favorite Chicago sports teams (Da Bears, Da Bulls, And Da Sox), hiking, and exploring new fairs and festivals! (Anything Deep Fried she's in!) Annie cannot wait to share her life with you on air and is excited to be back in the Region doing what she loves!

Happy Father's Day To All Our Dads!!! I am so grateful I have my dad in my life!!! This year we will be celebrating by going to the Sox game and having some fun! What will you be up to? Saw this list online and immediately made me think of my pops... have you heard them before?

1. Go ask your mother.
2. I brought you into this world and I can take you out.
3. This will hurt me more than it hurts you.
4. You’re grounded.
5. If all your friends jumped off a bridge, would you?
6. If I told you once, I told you a thousand times.
7. What? Do I look like a bank?
8. Back in my day…
9. Go to your room.
10. Now!

Today is Blame Someone Else Day. This is a day to share the responsibility and the guilt for the mess we’re in. Blame someone else.

Today is Friday the 13th. Every year has at least one Friday the 13th, but neve3r more than three; this is the only Friday the 13th in 2014. Fear of the number 13 is known as triskaidekaphobia. Fear of Friday the 13th is known as paraskavedekatriaphobia. This year there is also a full moon!

Here are some great community events to check out this weekend:

The annual Corn Roast! You can experience an old-fashioned street celebration down Main Street in Crown Point, featuring great food, a beer garden, live music on Friday and Saturday night, games for the kids

Portage Township Summerfest through Sunday at Haven Hollow Park.

Relay For Life of South Lake County Fri, June 13, 6pm – Sat, June 14, 9am

Opening ceremony is at 6pm on June 13th at The Lake County Fairgrounds! There will be a Survivors Lap, Luminaria Ceremony, Fight Back Ceremony and silent auction.

Your wedding day is a day you dream to be perfect. However, if you have ever had one, you know something will inevitably go wrong! It's all about rolling with the punches! On our wedding day it rained, the batteries were dead in the ceremony stereo (so no music to walk down the aisle), and our flower girl was sick! That being said, there's not much I would change about the big day... well maybe some stuff!!! Is there anything you would change? Here is what most brides answered in a new survey:

1. Best man’s speech: 52 percent
2. Hair and make-up: 38 percent
3. Wish I’d spent more overall: 34 percent
4. The weather 33 percent
5. Wedding dress: 32 percent
6. Honeymoon destination 31 percent
7. Poor wedding pictures 30 percent
8. Engagement ring 24 percent
9. Bridesmaids 21 percent
10. Bouquet 17 percent

What Do You Tip?

Are you a bad tipper? What is usually your general rule of thumb... 15/18/20 Percent? I usually base mine on what I would want for a tip, if I was still waiting tables. If you have never served before, you should be aware most of the wait staff is working on an hourly rate under $3.  Truthfully, most are counting on your tips to feed their family, pay their bills, go to school, etc. So who falls under the worst tipper category... Young Adults!! Check out the findings of a new study:

  1. Ages 18 to 34: 30%

  2. Age 35 and older: 16%

  3. Midwest diners: 26%

  4. Western diners: 24%

  5. Southern diners: 22%

  6. Northeastern diners: 15%

  7. Americans on average: 20%
