*NEWLY-ADDED*
Desperate need -- small and large litter pans (roughly 300 cats in residence) -- plus gas cards for animal transportation vehicles for taking animals to vet appointments

Donate to "Traveler's Fund"
Named after a rescued pit bull terrier named Traveler, who was found under a trailer after Hurricane Katrina and transferred to the Calumet Area shelter, the fund helps animals with special needs. "Traveler" passed away in February 2007. Traveler had become a warm, welcoming presence at the Animal Ark Vet Clinic in Chicago, even providing blood for dogs who needed transfusions. HSCA established Traveler's Fund through the generosity of a Chicago Canine Rescue Volunteer. "Scooter", a stray dog who recently came to HSCA with a broken back, is being evaluated by veterinarians in Chicago thanks to contributions to Traveler's Fund.

Wanted: Volunteer Snow Plow
We are currently seeking a volunteer to plow our parking lot during the winter. Please contact Rebecca at (219) 922-3811 ext. 311

Emergency Needs
Cat Litter (non-clumping)
With approximately 300 cats in residence, we run out of litter quickly.
We prefer regular clay litter that is not the scoopable variety. Scoopable litter gets in our drains and clogs them. Please help us keep our cats clean and healthy so they are ready to find new homes!
Ice Melt
We usually use End Ice brand in 50 pound bags, but any donation is appreciated.
Liquid Detergent
Liquid laundry detergent (any brand) for washing blankets and toys for the animals.

If you wish to purchase a specific item for the shelter animals, please check out the list below of items that we truly need most. The animals have simple needs. Please consider making a contribution to support them. The animals thank you. All contributions are tax deductible, as allowed by law.

Non-equine related donations are also GREATLY appreciated

If you have unwanted and saleable items or if you've had a rummage sale and have left over items, please consider donating them to Tiny Hooves Foal Rescue for our Annual Rummage Sale.

Not only is the sale a great way to raise much needed funds, but its a great time for people to come and visit the foals and horses and to raise awareness.

We also are in need of items to sell via an online auction.

We are also in need of monetary donations. Whether it be $3, $10, $25 or any other amount, it greatly helps! Why are monetary donations so important?

Even though they are unwanted, some of the horses and all of the foals need to be bought in order to be rescued. They are not given to us because the owners know that they can get money for them through others means. But in order for us to rescue them we have to have the money in hand when approaching the individual who has them. We also need to arrange transportation for them.

It also costs money to provide everyday the necessities that they need such as the milk that the very young foals need, grain, hay, wood shavings, medical care, vaccines, ferrier care, vet care, etc..

We get no break in cost for vet care or ferrier costs. When many of the horses arrive they are in immediate need of medical attention and the bills add up pretty quick. We also receive no discount on any of the horses daily needs or necessities.
